Cairn is set to be one of the biggest indie releases of 2026, with the title surging past 700,000 wishlists last year, and the wait for the release date is rapidly approaching a conclusion.
The climbing title has garnered plenty of interest already and is expected to surge in popularity to hit a fresh summit when it launches on PC and PlayStation 5.

When Does Cairn Release?
Cairn has an official release date of January 29, but the exact date will vary depending on your platform and your location in the world.
Some players will be able to play on the evening of January 28, while others will have to wait until the early hours of the morning on January 30, as developer The Game Bakers has opted for a simultaneous worldwide release. However, the release times are different on each platform.
What Time Does Cairn Release?
Cairn will be available worldwide at 9 AM PT on January 29 on Steam, but players on PlayStation 5 look set to be able to jump in hours earlier.
The start time details come from SteamDB, showing that the exact time of day for the release with vary depending on where they are located in the world. As such, while the release date is officially January 29, players in some regions won’t be able to jump in until the early hours of the morning of January 30.
It’s a different story on PlayStation 5, however, as the PlayStation Store states a release time of 9 PM PT on January 28 on the platform, 12 hours ahead of the Steam release. Should these times change, this article will be updated.
