Blue Archive, Nexon Games’ anime-style RPG, could be heading towards an expanded future beyond mobile (and some PC) gaming. There are plans to explore new genres, animation projects, and alternate media.
This revelation came during a broadcast on October 25, during which it was announced that Nexon will be taking over services for Blue Archive from Yostar in 2027. It was stressed that the upcoming Blue Archive event, slated to take place at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, will still go ahead, but Nexon will be backing it rather than Yostar.
Blue Archive Could Expand Into Other Genres
Nexon is ready to make a significant step forward with Blue Archive, with the firm seeking to capitalize on the franchise’s success thus far.
Talking about the proposal, Nexon Games’ Kim Yong-ha, the executive project director behind Blue Archive, expressed interest in broadening the brand’s horizons.
In a statement captured by Korea’s Game Focus, Yong-ha said:
Although there are no concrete plans yet, I hope to pioneer new ventures. I want to welcome 2027 with various dreams, such as developing new animations and new works utilizing IP.
There are many opinions within the company that they also want to do this. To make it realistically possible, there must be justification and supporting circumstances, so we are constantly thinking about how to prepare and looking for opportunities.
Blue Archive has advanced significantly into areas that Korean games have not yet explored, but there are still many areas we haven’t reached, and I want to go that far.

Yong-ha also mentioned a desire to expand Fareidolia, an all-new bishoujo game that I demoed at the recent Tokyo Game Show.
It was then reported that Yong-ha referenced TPS-style games, ‘desert island survival games’, and SRPGs focusing on Blue Archive characters.
