Chen ‘Bin’ Ze-Bin has announced that he will take a break from competitive League of Legends to “rest and reset” as BLG prepares for LPL Split 3.
The announcement came in conjunction with a Weibo post by Bilibili Gaming, which confirmed that BLG Junior Top Laner Yang ‘Wenbo’ Wen-Bo would be included in BLG’s active roster for the final domestic split of the year.
Bin provides statement on condition
The news came as Bin announced on his Weibo account that he would take a “temporary break from the competitive scene.”
The highly-decorated Chinese Top Laner explained, “Recently, I haven’t been in a great state. After talking with the team, I’ll be taking a temporary break from the competitive scene to rest and reset.”
He continued, “Thank you to the team and my teammates for being so understanding and supportive, and thank you to everyone who cares about me. I hope you’ll all continue to support BLG!” (translated)
Neither BLG nor Bin provided specifics of how long the Top Laner’s time away from the game would be exactly, however, the “temporary” label dispels previous rumors on Chinese social media that Bin’s removal could be permanent.
BLG to start life without Bin in LPL Split 3
The decision to step away from competitive play followed a gruelling and painful couple of weeks for BLG’s League of Legends roster, whose hopes of a historic Golden Road were dashed at MSI 2026.
With only a few days between the events, BLG were swiftly flown to Paris for the Esports World Cup 2026, where they faced a disappointing and unexpected quarter-final exit to an on-fire Dplus KIA roster, who went on to win the competition.
Taking place in the small window between MSI and the start of the final regional splits of the LoL calendar, the Esports World Cup has not left BLG, and several other rosters, much time to recover in comparison to the usually spread-out League calendar.
Now back in China, BLG will begin their LPL Split 3 campaign against ThunderTalk Gaming on July 23, less than one week after their EWC elimination.
In Bin’s place will be Bilibili Gaming Junior Top Laner Wenbo, who had previously been part of the senior roster from January to March amid reported discord in the BLG camp, but will now see action as a starting member of the roster.
Regardless of the change, Polymarket still has BLG as heavy favorites for the LPL 2026 title, with a 51% chance of winning the Split.
