Year after year, PlayStation puts the best first-party games out for players to immerse themselves in, and with the upcoming line-up looking stronger than ever, there’s a number of PS5 exclusives we’re excited for. Here are our top picks for the best upcoming PS5 exclusives you need to keep an eye on.

While a number of PlayStation 5 exclusives have been confirmed or are rumored, this list will rank five of them that seem to have the most hype. If your most anticipated game is nowhere to be seen, well, leave a comment to put it on our radar.
5. Marvel’s Spider-Man 3
It’s official boys, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is in development and set for a 2027 release date – or rather was. The Insomniac hack of December 2023 is a tragedy, and while it feels wrong to quote any of the leaked material, it’s hard to stop oneself from not thinking about the now-confirmed Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
Though, if I’m being honest, everyone already saw that coming since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sold over 6 million copies in less than 3 months. We can’t say for sure whether Spider-Man 3 will be on the PS5, however, the next generation of consoles shouldn’t arrive before 2028, so chances are good.

4. Stellar Blade
Stellar Blade is an upcoming PlayStation 5 action-adventure game by South Korean developer Shift Up. The story trailer for Stellar Blade back in 2022 was more than enough to ignite considerable hype for it.
In particular, Devil May Cry and Bayonetta fans are in for a treat here. Stellar Blade’s hack-and-slash combat has an uncanny resemblance to both franchises, though with a splash of original content added into the mix that almost any PS5 owner will want to experience given the opportunity.
3. Phantom Blade Zero
If anything noteworthy came out of PlayStation’s 2023 showcase it was Phantom Blade Zero. Chinese developer S-GAME is cooking what is perhaps the best upcoming PS5 action RPG.
Phantom Blade Zero’s announcement trailer presented fast-paced martial arts combat, a dark aesthetic similar to Bloodborne, and a promising story with the premise of the protagonist having only 66 days left to live in which he must find the one who framed him for murder. That’s a spoonful, but if Phantom Blade Zero is truly as good as the trailers, I doubt anyone would resist.

2. Marvel’s Wolverine
With Spider-Man 2 behind them, Insomniac is gearing up to release Marvel’s Wolverine. However, as mentioned above, Insomniac was unfortunately hacked by the ransomware group Rhysida and almost all of the development files of Wolverine have been leaked.
That is a devastating blow to Wolverine’s development, but given Insomniac’s resume, they will surely surprise us again. Wolverine is in a tight spot right now, and regardless of when it finally comes out, it’ll remain one of the best upcoming PS5 exclusives fans are anticipating.
1. Death Stranding 2
In 2019, Kojima invented the “Strand-like” genre, and now he’s planning on redefining it with Death Stranding 2. The teaser for the second installment was packed with clues to what awaits us porters next. Sam looks old, Fragile’s scars are healed, Higgs’ back from the dead, and Lou is actually dead?! What.
A lot of unanswered questions are looming in the air and fans can’t wait to see what Kojima Productions is going to deliver us in Death Stranding 2. Maybe this time there will be a lot of combat, bigger maps, more innovative ways of traversal, or multiple protagonists. Maybe Kojima will prophesize another pandemic? Wouldn’t that be something? Whatever happens, Death Stranding 2 is surely among the best upcoming PS5 exclusives. See you in 2025.
