Baldur’s Gate 3 has had an unbelievable run since its release in August for PC and in September for the PS5. It currently shares the position for the highest-rated video game for the PS5 with Elden Ring, 2022’s game of the year winner. With an Xbox version now out, it’s all but guaranteed to reach the same heights there too.

Months prior to the official announcement at The Game Awards, Larian’s CEO Swen Vincke commented that Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xbox was in playtesting and on track for 2023, but also that they would “announce the exact release date when we’re sure it’s done”. It seems that meant doing a big reveal at The Game Awards 2023.

For Xbox owners, it’s been quite a long wait, but with Larian dropping the good news at The Game Awards, they can dive into the Forgotten Realms right this instant. Baldur’s Gate 3 has launched with 3 editions on Xbox consoles to choose from.

Fans eagerly awaiting the port can now watch the new accolades hype trailer for the Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox version below.

It was revealed during The Game Awards after all, so it’s packed full of exciting glimpses of what players will be doing on the Xbox Series S/X.
