Games need to evolve, and while Apex Legends has been killing it for years now, developer Respawn Entertainment could be about to shake up Ranked play with one of the biggest changes to date.
Since the dawn of time, Apex Legends has always had meta characters that rank highly on picked lists. Buffs and nerfs will adjust this from time to time, but there’s always a consistent meta, with certain characters always being considerably more favorable in a given moment.
This could all change with a potential Ranked ban measure.
Apex Legends Ranked About to Start Banning Characters?

If you’re familiar with Rainbow Six Siege‘s online Ranked play and even League of Legends, then the concept of banning characters for a match isn’t new.
In Siege, for example, teams elect to ban certain Operators before a match starts, and this is to stop OP Operators from being in every match. There are still favorites that show up regardless, but it’s a countermeasure to curtail repetition and abusing strong mechanics that are deadly in the hands of better players.

According to reliable X leaker @HYPERMYSTx, this could be a thing in Apex Legends in the near future, and it could see the most-picked Legends taking a backseat in competitive play.
They quite simply said:
‘LEAK: LEGEND BAN SYSTEM IS REPORTEDLY COMING TO RANKED.’
They haven’t offered much more than this, but they have a good track record of Apex leaks.
If it happens, it won’t be for Season 30, but it could happen in upcoming seasons, if it’s true.
Stay tuned for future updates in this rumor/leak.
