Analytic Firm Predicts Marvel’s Wolverine Has Sold 1.9 Million Copies During Release Week

New data from Alinea Analytics shows that Marvel’s Wolverine sold nearly 2 million copies in its first week of release.

Skepticism has certainly surrounded the release of Marvel’s Wolverine, given the game’s critical reception. However, things seemed different once PlayStation players started scoring the game, which made many think the situation might not be as bad. Now we have received some sales predictions for Insomniac’s latest title.

Marvel’s Wolverine Has Reportedly Surpassed Death Stranding 2’s Lifetime PS5 Sales

A new post on X (formerly Twitter) by Rhy Elliot, the head of market analysis at Alinea Analytics, reveals the sales data for Marvel’s Wolverine. The game has seemingly sold 1.9 million copies, and it’s only been three days since its release, during which it has generated $130 million. Interestingly, the post reveals that 22.9% of the total sales were physical. 53% of the sales were in the US, 7% in the UK, 5% in France, and 4% in Canada.

Making some comparisons, Elliot reveals that Marvel’s Wolverine outsold Death Stranding 2’s lifetime PS5 copies, which was at $1.8 million. Comparing figures with other games, Elliot’s post stated MLB The Show had 1.5 million copies sold on PS5, Saros had 510,000 units sold on PS5, Marathon sold 1.8 million units across all platforms, and Marvel Tōkon has sold 740,000 units across all platforms. Which seemingly makes Marvel’s Wolverine the top-performing PlayStation Studios game for this year.
