Team Heretics has announced that Danish jungler Kacper ‘Daglas’ Dagiel will continue playing in both the LEC and Spain’s LES.
The League of Legends pro will play in both leagues each week for Team Heretics and Team Heretics Academy until a new academy jungler is found.
Daglas was promoted to Heretics’ starting roster last week after Théo ‘Sheo’ Borile stepped down from Team Heretics’ LEC team.
After Sheo benched himself and refused to be demoted to the academy, Daglas will now have to fill both roles.
It was a tough return to the LEC for Daglas, as he picked up just one kill and seven assists across two games against Movistar KOI.
Team Heretics Statement on Academy Jungle Position
In an official statement released by Team Heretics Academy, the organisation revealed that Daglas can play for both teams under Riot Games’ LEC rules.
The LEC rules state “a player cannot be part of their Team’s LEC and ERL Roster at the same time,” but there is an exemption if the player is not considered a veteran.
Having played for less than a year during his LEC stint with Team Vitality, Daglas does not count as a veteran, so Heretics is relying on this.
“Due to our current circumstances, this promotion means the club has to find a reliable replacement for the LES mid-split, with all the difficulties that entails. Therefore, Daglas will temporarily also be part of the LES roster while the team actively searches for a jungler to complete the roster,” Team Heretics states.
“A veteran player, according to the rulebook’s definition, is a player who has participated in more than 50% of the matches played in a Professional League (LEC, LTA, LPL, LCK, etc.) in at least three of the last five completed Splits, so Daglas is far from meeting that requirement,” Team Heretics added.
Despite this, Team Heretics claims this is a temporary solution and the organisation is still looking for a new jungler to play in the LES.
