Ubisoft Wants New Hires To Be Familiar With Generative AI Tools

Ubisoft seems to be going all-in on generative AI (GenAI), with new job listings asking for experience in this field.

The gaming industry seems to be split on the use of AI in game development, with Take-Two CEO stating that AI tools can help create assets but not generate hits. At the same time, NetEase recently praised AI integration across the full development and gameplay cycle. Now, Ubisoft seems to be hiring people with expertise in these tools.

Ubisoft Asks for Experience in GenAI Tools and Models Like Claude, ChatGPT, NanoBanana, and More

Spotted by Tech4Gamers, new job listings from Ubisoft specifically seek candidates with experience in generative AI tools and models. One such listing is for a Technical Art Director position at Ubisoft Annecy, aimed at candidates who will contribute to an unannounced AAA project.

The qualifications section of this listing clearly states that the Technical Art Director must be “proficient” in generative AI tools, including ComfyUI, MidJourney, NanoBanana, and Hunyuan. Additionally, the candidate should be “comfortable working with” generative AI models like Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, and others.

There is also a similar job opening for a Prompt Specialist at Ubisoft Paris. The job description states, “By joining us in this role, you will become part of a multidisciplinary team (comprising data, programming, game and narrative design, animation, etc.), guided by a simple yet ambitious question: among all the possibilities offered by generative AI, which ones are truly interesting and fun for gameplay?”

Additionally, the qualifications require experience with models such as GPT-4, Gemini, Claude, Qwen, SentenceBERT, Llama, Mistral, and others.

In other news, the laid-off workers from Ubisoft’s Halifax branch have voted in favor of a settlement with the company. Additionally, Insider Gaming has exclusively revealed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will release this July.
