The creator of The Last of Us has reportedly said there is a colony of immune people he would like to explore.
Naughty Dog has been in the news recently, thanks to a claim stating that a new Uncharted game is in the works, alongside the upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Now, some intriguing information has been revealed about their other massive franchise, The Last of Us.
The Last of Us Part 3 Could Explore a Colony of Immune People
In a recent interview with KIWI TALKZ, Gabriel Betancourt, a former lighting artist at Naughty Dog, discussed the concept of additional immune individuals in The Last of Us universe. Betancourt shared insights from his conversation with Neil Druckmann, head of Naughty Dog, about the decision not to make Ellie the sole immune person at the center of the story. Druckmann replied that Ellie isn’t the only one and that “several people are immune.”
Betancourt elaborated on his conversation, revealing that Druckmann mentioned, “there’s a place, there’s a whole congregation of that kind of person.” Druckmann aims to create a “more sophisticated story” featuring “multiple characters” and expanding upon this narrative. While the Naughty Dog lead has not officially commented on this topic yet, if this information is accurate, we may see this as a plot point in the upcoming game of the series, The Last of Us Part 3.
In other news, a former Naughty Dog dev who worked on Uncharted 4 says the first version of the game didn’t go down well.
