Pokémon Champions Releases for Switch and Switch 2 on April 8
The latest blog post by The Pokémon Company confirms the Pokémon Champions release date for Switch and Switch 2. The developers have revealed a Starter Pack bundle that provides additional in-game benefits, including increased Pokémon storage space, an extra battle song, and more. Moreover, the Switch 2 version will receive an update that will improve the title’s visuals.
As you might already know, Pokémon Champions enables players to face other players in Pokémon battles with the creatures they have collected across previous games using Pokémon Home. Players will also encounter other Pokémon in the game, including Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr.
The three Mega Pokémon feature special abilities, with Mega Meganium receiving Mega Sol that lets the “Pokémon use its moves as if the weather were harsh sunlight”. Mega Emboar gets Mold Breaker, which makes its moves unaffected by the target’s Ability. Lastly, Mega Feraligatr’s Ability is Dragonize, which turns Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves and boosts their power by 20%.
