Insomniac Games has revealed why pre-orders aren’t yet live for Marvel’s Wolverine, and it turns out it’s because they want to show you more gameplay.
Marvel’s Wolverine is highly anticipated, with the release date confirmed for September this year. However, with a release date usually comes pre-orders, but Insomniac seem insistent on holding off, at least until Spring 2026.
Insomniac To Share More Wolverine Gameplay This Spring
Insomniac has doubled down on sharing more Wolverine gameplay this Spring, with the news coming from an innocent reply to a fan on X. It was mentioned that Spring has officially begun, and they asked whether there will still be more information this Spring, to which Insomniac replied ‘During Spring 2026, yes.’
In the same thread, another fan asked for pre-orders, but Insomniac had a very teasing reply:
We want to show you more of the game first.
Whilst Spring technically lasts until mid June, with the Summer Solstice primed for Sunday, June 21, it would be surprising to see Insomniac hold off on new gameplay for that long. PlayStation often hold State of Plays in either April or May (sometimes both), so it’s likely fans can expect to see more of Marvel’s Wolverine then.
Whether that takes form as a Wolverine-focused deep-dive, or a generalised trailer showcase remains to be seen, but there’s a high chance that when you next see Wolverine, pre-orders should open—so prepare your wallets.
