Xbox Removes Game Pass Discount on Call of Duty Add-Ons – UPDATED

UPDATE: A Microsoft spokesperson has given Insider Gaming the following statement regarding Call of Duty DLC discounts for Xbox Game Pass Members:

“This is not specific to any one game and reflects all games and DLC purchases. Instead of a discount on the purchases, Ultimate and Premium subscribers will earn 10% and 5% – respectively – in points when purchasing select games and add-ons from the Game Pass library.

Ultimate members continue to have 20% discount on select games from the Game Pass library. On top of that, all Rewards members will earn points when shopping games and add-ons on the Store, while Premium and Ultimate subscribers will earn even more, 2x and 4x respectively. See more detail on the Game Pass Rewards program here.

The discount for add-ons for Call of Duty for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members is no longer available, it seems.

Earlier this week, Xbox announced a price hike for Game Pass holders, bringing Ultimate up from $19.99 to $29.99. Other subscriptions also saw increased pricing, which has made many furious. Coincidentally, the closed beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has started and, while not too popular, is still doing okay. However, a month out from the game’s release, it appears that a popular discount for add-ons to the series is being discontinued.

Xbox Seemingly Ends Call of Duty Add-Ons Discount for Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers

According to CharlieIntel on Twitter/X, the 10% discount for Call of Duty add-ons is unavailable for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. The add-ons in question are points for series games like Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 6. No official comment from Xbox has been made as of writing. It’s unknown if this is an error on Xbox’s part, but Insider Gaming can confirm first-hand that the discount is not available on the Xbox Store.

The timing, as you can imagine, is not ideal. Many angered customers have already cancelled their subscriptions and expressed disappointment in Xbox. With the advent of Black Ops 7 on November 14th, 2025, removing a key discount for Ultimate subscribers, who can play the game day one, is a bit of a missed opportunity. Even more so, with the emphasis on Multiplayer, add-ons do seem like key selling item. Still, the removal is sure to cause quite a stir with Xbox fans and one that will feel rather present during the Closed Beta.

Are you surprised that Xbox removed the Call of Duty add-on discount? Did you use the discount on points in the past? Let us know in the comments below and on the forums and official Discord!
