Payday 2 Now Has A Subscription Plan For Its DLC

Developer Starbreeze has announced a new Payday 2 subscription service that will give players access to all of the game’s DLC for a monthly price.

In a post on the game’s website, Starbreeze says this new service will provide “full access to more than 65 DLCs, packed with heists, weapons, and cosmetics – all for a low monthly cost.”

The service, which is available exclusively via Steam for now, will cost $4.99 per month. Should you want a longer plan, though, there is a $19.99 for six months option. That gives players a 33% discount for purchasing extended time.

“With more than a decade of content behind PAYDAY 2, we want to give players greater flexibility in how they experience the game,” Starbreeze’s head of commericial, Gustav Nisser, said. “The subscription service makes it simple and cost-effective to enjoy everything PAYDAY 2 has to offer – whether you’re new to the game or returning to explore DLCs you haven’t yet played. At the same time, all existing DLCs remain available for purchase as before. This is about giving players more choice.”

The Payday 2 subscription service launches today, September 24, and is available for all Steam users. The base game, which first launched in 2013, is currently available on Steam for $9.99.

Are you going to pick up the subscription to check out all of the Payday 2 DLC? Let us know your thoughts on this new plan down in the comments below.
