Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Is Receiving a New Expansion this December

Ubisoft has announced that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will receive a new expansion, titled “From the Ashes,” on December 19, 2025. It releases alongside James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Ubisoft has planned a bunch of updates for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in December, and it makes sense to push more content when the next movie installment arrives. Earlier this year, the developers confirmed that the game will receive New Game+ and a third-person mode in December. Now, a new expansion for the Avatar game is arriving in the same month as well.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s From the Ashes Expansion Arrives With the Next Movie

The description for the From the Ashes expansion for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora states, “Eywa has abandoned you. So’lek’s journey begins in fire and vengeance.” It has been revealed that the events of the next expansion take place shortly after the events of the main game. The story will follow the journey of So’lek, “a battle-hardened Na’vi warrior from the Trr’ong clan.” Interested readers can check out the trailer for From the Ashes below:

The trailer’s description provides some additional context for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s next expansion. It appears that the RDA has allied with the infamous Ash clan, which has burned everything down, scattering the Sarentu family. However, So’lek has awakened to reunite his family and protect his loved ones. Players seem to be excited about the new expansion; however, many have asked if The Way of the Water might receive one as well.

Is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Getting Melee Weapons?

Some players have speculated that From the Ashes could finally add new melee weapons and focus more on melee combat in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Towards the end of the trailer and also in the promo image, we see So’lek appear with a blade in his hand, and players feel this could be a hint towards the introduction of melee combat, which could be a great addition alongside the third-person mode.

In other news, Ubisoft has addressed the link to Saudi Arabia with the new Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC. What are your thoughts on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s From the Ashes expansion? Let us know through the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
