The Ghoul Appears in Fallout 76 as Walton Goggins Joins the Burning Springs Update

Walton Goggins is splitting his character from the Fallout TV show and picking up a side gig in Fallout 76 as a bounty hunter extraordinaire in the new Burning Springs update. This information comes fresh from Bethesda Game Studios as the team reveals the biggest update yet, coming to the popular MMORPG this December.

Burning Springs takes players to Ohio, offering up the largest map expansion we’ve ever seen in Fallout 76, which turns seven years old in 2025. Walton Goggins is just one part of an immense offering from Bethesda Game Studios this time around.

Enter The Ghoul, Bursting with Bounties

The Ghoul was fused with Fallout 76 when the television show aired, and an outfit was added to the game resembling the character’s garb from the show. In December, when Burning Springs arrives, the entire character himself will surface in the game, accommodating a spot in Ohio and offering high-value bounties.

As one of the more challenging aspects of the Burning Springs update, the bounty hunter missions, as provided by The Ghoul, will require players to hunt down tough, diehard criminals (or perhaps not) with bounties on their heads.

It’s all about the caps for Walton Goggins’ character and the player, and it’s a business relationship of the best kind: mutual benefit.

The new realm of Ohio offers a stunning expansion to Fallout 76’s base map, serving up an arid wasteland much like the Toxic Valley, populated by some terrifying creatures, including armored Deathclaws. Our partners, the Iron Lords, recently travelled to New York to explore Ohio in the Burning Springs update.

The Ghoul’s side quests in Fallout 76 will yield exclusive rewards, including the immensely powerful weapons the character uses in the television show.

This December, when the second season of the show airs, the Burning Springs update will drop, enveloping fans of the franchise once again in an entire world of Fallout.
