Xbox and LG’s partnership will bring Cloud Gaming (Beta) to select internet-connected cars.
Xbox wasn’t lying with their ‘This is an Xbox’ campaign last year when they said any device can be an Xbox. At that time, it seemed that this would be limited to devices such as consoles, laptops, handhelds, PCs, smart TVs, and VR devices. However, Microsoft has taken it one step further, bringing Xbox to cars, allowing players to keep playing their games even while travelling.
Xbox and LG Partner Up to Bring Cloud Gaming to Select Cars
Through the partnership, Xbox has been integrated into LG’s webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP), allowing passengers in internet-connected vehicles to use it. The Xbox app on this device will enable players to stream and play games, as well as access their Game Pass Ultimate library. However, players will need an automotive data plan to access streaming services. Moreover, “All services operate in compliance with driving safety regulations.”
Just like other Cloud Gaming Beta devices, all players will need is a compatible Bluetooth controller, launch the Xbox app, and then log in to their Xbox Game Pass subscription. As soon as you have completed these steps, you will be able to play your favourite titles from the comfort of your vehicle. A post from Tom Warren on X (formerly Twitter) reveals that Kia’s EV3 features LG’s ACP platform. More compatible cars are expected to be revealed soon.
In other news, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is reportedly scheduled for release on Xbox in 2026. Additionally, Helldivers 2 sold more on Xbox than PlayStation in the first six days.
