The opening cinematic of World of Warcraft: Midnight was revealed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase, providing a first look at the game’s 11th expansion.
With the Blood Elves preparing for a battle against the forces of the Void, players will be thrust into the middle of the ongoing war to play a pivotal role in the push to defend the Sunwell.
While full details of the features were not shown in the presentation, they will be coming during the rest of Gamescom week, and the opening cinematic certainly raises excitement.
World of Warcraft: Midnight Cinematic Shows Huge Battles
In the cinematic sequence, which opens World of Warcraft: Midnight, an attack on the Sunwell leaves the situation looking bleak, but the power of the Light provides hope in the battle.
With the declaration that the Sunwell will not fall, a new army gathers for an epic battle that is sure to play out throughout the experience in WoW: Midnight. Releasing in 2026, the expansion is now available to pre-purchase, and more details are coming.
Those on the ground at Gamescom will be able to experience the new housing feature, a long-awaited addition to the game, which arrives with the Midnight expansion.
Gamescom will also feature World of Warcraft developer panels, which will be shared from the show floor shortly after their conclusion. In the panels, more details will be revealed on the zones, quests, stories, and features of the Midnight expansion.
