The age of security and protection is escalating significantly. Video games are becoming more and more at the center of this movement, and if leaks are to be believed, GTA Online is implementing age verification across multiple regions moving forward.
GTA Online is no stranger to adult content. Hijacking cars, taking people out, heists, and general acts of lacerny all make up as much as five minutes of gameplay in GTA. The franchise’s freedom is why hundreds of millions of people love GTA, but it’s fair to say it’s not the most PG of titles.
If a leak from renowned leaker Tez2 is to be believed, GTA Online is getting age verification to protect players.
GTA Leaks Claim Rockstar Could Add Age Assurance Checks to GTA Online

Tez2 is one of the go-to sources for GTA leaks and insider information and has been for some time.
They’ve said: “Rockstar is planning to implement age assurance checks in the near future, rolling them out by region. You may need to verify your age to access #GTAOnline, or certain features, like phone messages, text chat, Snapmatic, may be restricted until you verify your age.“
It’s no secret that GTA 5 is an adults-only game. Many of us probably haven’t adhered to the age ratings on games throughout our lives—don’t give me that look.
Tez2 also shared screenshots of GTA Online’s code. Upcoming changes show many lines of text related to “Age Assurance” and various responses to your evidence, such as “Access Denied Age Assurance Required.“
Jokes aside, Rockstar is planning to implement age assurance checks in the near future, rolling them out by region. You may need to verify your age to access #GTAOnline, or certain features, like phone messages, text chat, Snapmatic, may be restricted until you verify your age.
The social media personality also mentions in the comments that while “the UK will definitely be the first” to add age verification, this can be rolled out anywhere. Another user added: “America is doing something similar with YT, so you can expect the same with GTA probably.“
Is this right? Should game companies be doing more to protect younger people from accessing content not intended for them? Share your thoughts and experiences through the Insider Gaming forum.
