XBOX CEO Responds to Criticism Over Multi-Platform Mentions

Asha Sharma responds to criticism over XBOX mentioning rival platforms during presentations. She says that the brand continues to assess its approach.

Recently, XBOX CCO Matt Booty stated on the official XBOX podcast that the brand would continue to be transparent about which of its in-house projects would come to multiple platforms. He stated that they make these announcements very clear during their Showcases. However, XBOX-centric players have some concerns, and Asha Sharma continues to hear them out.

XBOX CEO Asha Sharma Hears Your Gripes

Klobrille, an influencer who focuses on gaming’s green brand, noted on Twitter that he felt the bare minimum expectation among XBOX players in this new era was for the brand to focus specifically on its own platform, at least during its showcases.

Asha Sharma responded to this, noting that she hears the criticisms and that the brand is discussing how to adjust moving forward for future showcases.

XBOX has a major showcase planned for June 7. The company will not only focus on the next major releases from first- and third-party studios, but will also host a separate stream following the showcase. That stream will be focused solely on a deep dive into Gears of War: E-Day. Matt Booty previously confirmed that that particular stream would be about half an hour. Learn more about that here.

Insider Gaming will continue to monitor all the big announcements this summer and report major updates as more information becomes available.
