Apex Legends is arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 next week, it has been announced at the Nintendo Partner Direct, just in time for the new season.
First launched in 2019, Apex Legends has become one of the most popular Battle Royale titles and arrived on the original Nintendo Switch in 2019. Now, a version is launching on Switch 2.
Apex Legends launches on Nintendo Switch on August 5, the same date as Season 26: Showdown kicks off and introduces the new Wildcard mode, which will be playable on the platform.
Apex Legends Launches on Switch 2 for Season 26
While the title was officially supported on Switch 2 through the initial Switch version of the game, the native Switch 2 edition should perform with better framerates and quicker loading times, though details have not been shared.
The August 5 launch date comes alongside Season 26: Showdown in Apex Legends, which introduces a new game mode in Wildcard. In this mode, a trio of identical heroes face-off in an environment with faster gameplay in a remixed map with toys to utilize.
Season 26 also features buffs for Caustic and Bangalore, an upgraded RE-45 Pistol, and a new Battle Pass to progress through.
Apex Legends was part of a slew of EA titles featuring in the showcase, alongside the likes of EA FC 26 and Madden 26, both of which will be available on Switch 2.
