The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was another MGS title with mechanics years ahead of its time. Konami is honoring it by giving the game a full remake in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, but Hideo Kojima isn’t going to be playing it anytime soon.
The Metal Gear Solid brand will forever be synonymous with Hideo Kojima. The once-in-a-lifetime auteur has moved on from the series following a public falling out with Konami and went on to form Kojima Productions. This hasn’t stopped Konami from developing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Kojima Laughs at The Notion of Playing Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake

Hideo Kojima sat down for an interview with SSense and discussed a wide range of topics.
Death Stranding 1 and 2 naturally took up a large portion of the conversation. Kojima discussed his love of movies, how he knew Death Stranding 1’s reception wouldn’t be as universally positive as previous work, and how even his own team at Kojima Productions doubted him.
But you’re here for his thoughts on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, right? There’s not actually much to tell, although Kojima’s reaction is an interesting one. When asked if he would be playing the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake when it comes out, “Kojima laughed and said, “No, I won’t.“”
That was it; there was no further mention of it. If you wanted to know how Hideo Kojima feels about Konami and Metal Gear Solid at this moment, this probably answers every question you have. There is no love lost between the creator and the former company.
Will you be following in Kojima’s footsteps and avoiding the Snake Eater remake? Or is it a day-one purchase for you? Let me know through the Insider Gaming forum.
