PS5 Update Beta Brings DualSense Pairing Across Multiple Devices

A new PS5 beta update has introduced a feature that enables simultaneous pairing of DualSense wireless controllers and DualSense Edge wireless controllers with multiple devices.

Sony has stated that the DualSense wireless controllers were designed to support devices beyond the PS5, including PC, Mac and mobile devices. With this beta update, they are working towards enabling the compatibility of their peripherals across multiple platforms to bring a more “flexible and seamless gaming experience”.

DualSense Pairing With Multiple Devices

Before the beta update, players would need to pair their DualSense each time they switched between devices. Now, the DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controller will register up to four devices simultaneously. Which means players can seamlessly switch between PS5 and PC or mobile devices for remote play.

How to Pair DualSense With Multiple Devices?

  • To use the new feature, players must press a combination of the PS Button and one of the action buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, or Square) and assign a device to the desired slot.
  • The desired combination must be held for over 5 seconds, until the light bar and player indicator flash twice.
  • Then connect to the controller through your device
  • Note: players should disconnect the USB cable before pairing

How to Switch DualSense Devices?

Once you have registered a device to a desired slot, players can seamlessly switch by pressing the PS button and the designated action button. To switch, simply turn on the device you want to switch to and then hold the PS Button and the designated action button on the DualSense controller for 3 seconds.

Players should note that this PS5 update is currently in beta access and is only available to invited participants in select countries. The global release of this update is scheduled to arrive in the coming months.

In other news, Forza Horizon 5 was PlayStation’s best-selling game in 2025. Additionally, Sony’s ‘coupon settlement‘ was rejected in a class-action lawsuit.
