LEGO Reveals Nintendo Game Boy Set Releasing in October

LEGO has revealed a new set oriented around the Nintendo Game Boy console, which includes game cartridges and changeable screens.

An ongoing partnership between LEGO and Nintendo has already seen a host of collaborations, including a giant Bowser from the Mario series and a 2-in-1 Great Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda, and now the Game Boy will be the focus—another big drop before the highly coveted Pokémon sets in 2026.

This marks the second Nintendo console to be given the LEGO treatment after the Nintendo Entertainment System, though the Game Boy will be much more affordable.

The set, which is available to pre-order now and releases on October 1, consists of 421 pieces and is priced at $59.99. In comparison, the Nintendo Entertainment System, now sold out in most places, retailed for well over $200 dollars, though it had significantly more pieces.

One of the biggest highlights of the set is two buildable game cartridges for The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land. The set includes a stand for both the console and one of the cartridges, so you can pick and choose which one you display.

Further customisation comes in the console screen, with three choices to select. The first is the Nintendo logo from the console startup screen, while the others are screens from within the games themselves.

The Game Boy model has a width of 9 cm/3.5 inches and a height of 14 cm/5.5 inches, which, as shown by Nintendo’s own specifications, is accurate to the original console.

Pre-orders for the Game Boy set are now available, with shipping commencing on October 1. An order can contain a maximum of three of the products, and you’ll receive LEGO Points for discounts on future purchases if you have a LEGO Insider rewards membership.
