Employees at Gunzilla Games have announced that the studio is facing another round of layoffs as part of its restructuring.
The news comes from at least half a dozen employees on LinkedIn, who are reporting that they are now seeking employment after being laid off from Gunzilla Games.
Those who were laid off said that their positions were lost as part of a company restructuring. This is the second round of layoffs from Gunzilla in the past three months.
Gunzilla Games is known for its early access game ‘Off The Grid’, which is a free-to-play Battle Royale supported by an NFT marketplace. Off The Grid saw some initial success thanks to paid streamer advertisement with creators like Ninja, TimTheTatman, and Scump, but it’s currently unclear how the project is going.
Over $100 million has been invested in Gunzilla Games since its inception.
The layoffs come at a time when Gunzilla’s ‘GUN’ token has just expanded from Avalanche to the Solana blockchain. “Solana is home to some of the largest applications in the entire industry, complete with a massive die-hard community,” commented a GUNZ spokesperson in an X post, adding “our expansion to Solana will provide more accessibility to the token, particularly for U.S. users”.
At the time of writing, Gunzilla has yet to announce when the game will officially launch, but it’s slated for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Earlier this year, Gunzilla Games rescued Game Informer and its entire team from Gamestop for an undisclosed sum.
