According to Circana, Elden Ring: Nightreign was the best-selling game for the month, knocking off The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered from the top spot. Coming just behind Elden Ring: Nightreign in second was Doom: The Dark Ages, another new game released in May. That was followed up by Forza Horizon 5, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Remastered, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 at 3-5, respectively.

Elden Ring: Nightreign and Doom: The Dark Ages weren’t the only two new releases to find themselves in the Top 20 for the month. Another surprising game is 2017’s Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which jumped from 135 to 12 thanks to a recent resurgence of interest from players.

Leaving the top 20 from last month were Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Monster Hunter Wilds, The Elder Scrolls Online, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Hogwarts Legacy.

When looking at the publishers, it’s worth mentioning that, of the best-selling games, Microsoft had four of the top five games. Take-Two Interactive also features heavily with five games.
