The latest video game sales data has been released and Monster Hunter Wilds remains 2025’s best-selling game in the United States.
According to recent data (as of May 31) from Circana, the latest in the Monster Hunter franchise from Capcom held on to the top spot despite competition from game’s like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Speaking of those two games, Oblivion shot up to second after not being ranked in April while Assassin’s Creed Shadows fell to third. Rounding out the top 5 are Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and MLB: The Show 25, which flipped spots from April 2025.

Moving on to other games in the top 20, there are four new additions in May. Reaching the top 20 for the first time this year were the Oblivion remaster, Elden Ring: Nightreign (11th), Forza Horizon 5 (12th), and Doom: The Dark Ages (16th). To make way for those new games, Avowed, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and College Football 25 all dropped out.
