Rainbow Six Siege X July 9 Hotfix Update Targets “Cheats and Exploits”

Ubisoft is looking to clamp down on cheating and exploits in Rainbow Six Siege X with the new July 9 hotfix update. It’s aimed at reducing one problem and one problem only—cheaters and anyone using exploits to gain an advantage.

It’s rarer to find an online FPS that doesn’t have cheating at this point. Delta Force is being overrun with cheaters, Call of Duty has had long-standing problems (hence the introduction of RICOCHET), and Rainbow Six Siege X isn’t free either. Here’s hoping the July 9 update can lessen the impact of wrongdoers.

The official Rainbow Six Siege X account alerted the community on July 8 to say: “We have fixes on the way for some of your most pressing concerns. Thanks for your reports.”

An attached picture suggested that cheaters and exploits would be targeted in the PC-only update.

The account had this to say: “We’ve identified a fix for a 3rd party software exploit which will be deployed in an upcoming hotfix.

July 9 sees one hour of downtime from “09:00 EDT / 13:00 UTC,” and after this, the new Rainbow Six Siege X update should be completely enforced.

Are you tired of cheaters and exploits being used in Rainbow Six Siege X? Does there need to be a wider watchdog ensuring he safety of all FPS online gameplay? Let us know through the Insider Gaming forum.
