Sneaky Gamer Spies on Sucker Punch HQ to See Ghost of Yotei Being Developed

On social media, a post recently surfaced (and was swiftly deleted) showing Ghost of Yotei being developed from a bizarre perspective. In Bellevue, some sneaky gamer managed to snatch a glimpse of a Sucker Punch developer working hard by peering through a window and capturing a short video.

The OP didn’t receive the praise they expected on platforms like Reddit and became something of a laughing stock, given that the game has a dedicated State of Play surfacing tomorrow.

Nobody Liked That

On Reddit, a user posted a short clip showcasing Ghost of Yotei being worked on by a Sucker Punch developer. The clip was reportedly captured from a hotel overlooking Sucker Punch Productions in Washington.

Taking a cursory glance at a map reveals that there are a few hotels adjacent to the building in City Center Plaza that houses Sucker Punch.

However, given that Ghost of Yotei is very much confirmed and revealed, and has a State of Play arriving in just a day, meant that the user who originally posted the clip wasn’t met with jubilation and praise, but ridicule and scorn.

One user simply responded with, ‘That’s weird and creepy,’ while another explained, ‘No one deserves their privacy to be ruined so we can see sneak peeks of videogames.’

Others responded with comments laced with sarcasm: ‘Employee of a studio working on that studio’s game at that studio’s office. Groundbreaking.’

In one lengthy comment, a user explained that they worked for ‘a big publisher’, and they knew of folks who had to regularly cover their windows and skylights ahead of major product launches because of sneaky sneaks trying to spy on operations with drones and by climbing fire escapes.

We all want to know what’s happening with our most anticipated games, but please don’t follow in the footsteps of these would-be sleuths.

Would you climb walls to see a game being developed? Let me know on the Insider Gaming forum so we can laugh at you.

  • They can’t make good games. Yotei is a pass not supporting what will be a buggy mess then again delay may be on the table still.
