Escape from Tarkov’s Hardcore Wipe Is Happening Today

Rejoice, all those who have been seeking a deeper challenge in Escape from Tarkov. Today, Battlestate Games rolls out what could be the last ever enforced wipe in Escape from Tarkov, and it’s a hardcore wipe. For the first time, Battlestate Games is pushing a more restricted ruleset on players as a final hurrah and a farewell to the beta they’ve enjoyed for almost a year.

The hardcore wipe that’s dropping today, July 9, includes restricted traders, a closed Flea, tougher AI, and a lack of accessible ways into locations, amongst other things.

Are you excited?

Tarkov 0.16.8.0 is Here

The Escape from Tarkov 0.16.8.0 patch drops today, bringing with it the game’s first hardcore wipe. In a post on social media, Battlestate Games revealed the upcoming supersized change:

Along with the hardcore wipe for Escape from Tarkov (0.16.8.0), Escape from Tarkov: Arena is also getting a sizeable update in the 0.3.2.1 patch, which itself includes a wipe of sorts.

The hardcore wipe only started to be teased a couple of weeks back, but it already has the community excited for something new. It’s not your run-of-the-mill wipe in Escape from Tarkov, but something much juicier that could have the employed among us stressing out big time in the coming weeks and months.

The full details of the hardcore wipe are incoming, as at the time of writing, the full patch notes for 0.16.8.0 hadn’t been released.

Are you looking forward to what might be the last Escape from Tarkov wipe? Let me know on the Insider Gaming forum.
