6 Games Like Peak You Need to Play in 2025

Peak will go down as one of 2025’s most successful games, and if you want more games like it, we’ve got six other contenders you should definitely consider.

Aggro Crab and Landfall didn’t expect Peak to be as supported as it has been. This is the case, and the game’s world is packed with players surviving the elements and wanting to cannibalize each other.

Many of these popular indie games are successful because they’re made for people (not shareholders), they’re cheap, and they listen to the community. You can probably pick up every game on this list for the cost of a traditional AAA nowadays—maybe half of some! Your enjoyment with Peak will likely peak, and when this happens, it’s time to try some other games.

Best Games Like Peak You Should Play

Our Peak-like recommendations are based on several factors: Price point, similarity, the interesting nature of its mechanics, and how fun it is. You can guarantee every entry on the list is a certified banger. Even if you’ve played the majority of them before, here’s hoping you find at least one source of entertainment that will consume hours of your life.

Content Warning

Warning: Content Warning is fun and frightening, and fun.

The multiplayer horror title is also published by Landfall, and the company seems to get it. Content Warning has you and up to a handful of players venturing into uncharted territory to film ungodly creatures. Why? So you can go viral! What else is there to do in the 2020s?

Content Warning has the same formula you’ll be familiar with now: Head in, do your thing, survive, and leave. It’s not in its pomp like it was in 2024, but there’s still much content to enjoy, but take heed of this warning.

Lethal Company

You wouldn’t have Content Warning without Lethal Company. Zeekerss launched the online multiplayer title, and it caught on with streamers and content creators very quickly. It’s another game that went super-viral, and anyone who’s anyone was playing it when it came out.

The goal is to go to a location, evade deadly monsters, and extract loot. If you salvage enough scrap and goodies, you’ll meet your quota for the Company and get to continue. If you don’t, your contract status will be terminated—as will you.

REPO

Alongside Schedule 1, REPO is undoubtedly a winner for the indie scene this year. It’s been a constant presence in Steam Charts rankings, and this is most definitely a game like Peak you need to try if you haven’t already. Yes, there are similarities to Lethal Company’s extraction mechanics, but the lighter-hearted nature of REPO is endearing.

The character designs are easy merchandise money-makers, and the added jeopardy of potentially damaging the goods you procure and reducing their value adds another level of depth and danger. REPO maintains a consistent fanbase and keeps adding new items, and it’s worth playing.

Chained Together

Up to four players can link up (literally) to play Chained Together. If you’ve ever seen Gettin’ Over It, or most recently, Only Up!, you know the format. You start from the bottom, and you must reach the top. You do this by vaulting obstacles, making death-defying leaps, and pummeling your mouse and keyboard into oblivion through sheer, abject frustration—just me?

The gameplay mechanics are a simple as they get. However, communication is a non-negotiable necessity in Chained Together. You need to move together, jump together, and succeed together, or you will certainly fail together.

Phasmophobia

Take a sprinkling of Content Warning, and a hint of Lethal Company, and you get Phasmophobia. It first launched in 2020 and continues to draw people into the darkness and consume their sanity in its shadows.

The Chronicle update arrived in 2025 to spruce up the horror game. You can three other players can enjoy game-changing mechanics: Recording videos, recording sounds, and achieving a perfect investigation.

Among Us

Look, I’m one of the few people on this planet who hasn’t seen Avatar! If that’s the case, then there are people out there who have yet to play Among Us. The game has been out for five years and was one of the most popular games on the planet during the pandemic—skyrocketing to fame and fortune overnight.

It’s on almost every platform imaginable and even has a VR alternative. It suits bigger parties, but you and a group of friends can still work together, perform tasks, and try to work out who the secret killer is. Many copycats have imitated this piece of art, but few come close to the addictive and amusing nature of Among Us.

What do you think of these selections? I think these are great options if you’re looking to play something like Peak in 2025. If you can think of any others, let us know through the Insider Gaming forum, and we might add them to our list.
