You have a plethora of items to juggle in Peak (not literally), and the Faerie Lantern is one you should look to obtain ASAP. Also known as the Fairy Lantern, the essential piece of equipment has many life-boosting effects, and this guide takes you through the item’s use and how to get one.
Peak starts you off with very little. Your task—as well as climbing a lot—is to discover each biome, explore them, and uncover items you can use to help you survive longer and endure the torrid elements. You’re sure to have a Lantern at some point, but having a Faerie Lantern is a big step toward reaching the peak of Peak.
It’s easier to say “Fairy Lantern,” and more of an inconvenience to say/spell “Faerie.” So bear with us as we cover all bases.
What Does The Fairy Lantern do in Peak?

The Fairy Lantern is used to heal a wide variety of status ailments, including Brute, Burn, Frost, Lethargy, and Poison in Peak.
Of course, it illuminates in the same way a normal Lantern does. That’s not why we want a Fairy Lantern, though, because its multi-functional healing properties are a godsend for dealing with the constant, harrowing conditions of biomes.
If you’re in Caldera, this particular Lantern will reduce burn damage—but not prevent it altogether, so bear this in mind during Peak. The same goes for biomes where the cold is a factor, poison, etc. The Faerie Lantern helps prevent and cure life-threatening ailments.
How to Use Faerie Lantern in Peak
You need to find and equip a Fairy Lantern from your inventory in Peak, gather all teammates around you, and activate the device to start its rejuvenating effects.
Here’s a simple breakdown of what to do:
- Locate a Faerie Lantern and add it to your inventory.
- Gather all teammates around you in close proximity.
- Use the applicable keybind to select the Lantern.
- Wait for your character to pull out the device.
- Enjoy the restorative and curing properties of the Fairy Lantern!
Be warned: Overusing the Fairy Lantern causes it to run out. According to Peak, the Faerie Lantern: “Recharges if not fully used.“
I advise you to use the rare piece of equipment sparingly. If you’re in danger of death or you’re close to it, and you’re suffering from any of the status afflictions it targets, that’s when to trigger the device.
How to Get Fairy Lantern in Peak
The most common ways to obtain a Faerie Lantern are by finding them in Ancient Luggage cases around the game or through the statues hidden in the title.
Don’t expect Fairy Lanterns to grow on trees. They’re valuable, but very rare. If you find one, take care of it, embrace my advice about when to use it, and you should have a better time with your mountain-climbing antics.
I hope this has given you good insight into Peak’s Fairy Lanterns. They’re one of the best items in the game, for sure. Do you disagree? Is there another item you need help with? Drop a comment below. Also, check out the Insider Gaming forum for more gaming conversations.
