Edward Kenway’s voice actor, Matt Ryan, has openly hinted that players will be able to play the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake.
During a signature signing, one person asked Ryan if he has beaten Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, to which the actor replied:
“You might have to beat it [Assassin’s Creed Black Flag] again,” he said. The person getting the signature then said, “I have to beat them all again,” to which Ryan said:
“Especially this one. There’s a reason I say that, but I can’t say anything”.
For those unaware, Insider Gaming exclusively revealed last year that Ubisoft was developing an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake in the new Anvil engine.
The game, which is codenamed Obsidian, was scheduled to release sometime later this year, but it’s unclear if the recent changes at Ubisoft have delayed those plans.
Gameplay sent to Insider Gaming in 2024 of the Black Flag Remake under the condition that it does not go public shows Edward Kenway sailing a ship on the upgraded Anvil Engine.
Earlier this year, official statue merchandise makers for Assassin’s Creed also hinted at the Black Flag Remake.
“Assassin’s Creed fans out there, you should be aware that there is something going on with Edward [Keyway]”, said one host, where he was then interrupted by the other host asking him “wait has that been announced?”
“I think so, I’m pretty sure I saw rumors about it. No, I definitely saw an article about it”, he continued.
As for when Assassin’s Creed Black Flag will release is unclear, but later in 2025 to early 2026 is our best guess at the moment.
