Artists at Pure Arts have hinted that there’s ‘something going on with Edward’ as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake continue to swirl.
The tease came during a recent Pure Arts livestream, where one of the hosts seemingly got confused between what has officially been said and what hasn’t.
“Assassin’s Creed fans out there, you should be aware that there is something going on with Edward [Keyway]”, said one host, where he was then interrupted by the other host asking him “wait has that been announced?”
“I think so, I’m pretty sure I saw rumors about it. No, I definitely saw at article about it”, he continued”
He later said, “So there’s going to be something going on with Edward, and our PVC 1/8th scale statue will reflect that accordingly”, he finalised.

Something big is definitely happening regarding the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake. 🏴☠️🔥 The people at Pure Arts unveiled a new collection of figures, but the EDWARD one was missing. 🧐 When asked, they said this: 🗣💬 Via @TheRAFITI69 #AssassinsCreed #Ubisoft
While at face value the host could have been simply confused and had his wires crossed when it came to rumors and official information, Insider Gaming knows that company’s, like Pure Arts, are already working on merchandise.
As reported by Insider Gaming, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake is codenamed ‘Obsidian’ and has been rebuilt from the ground up in the new Anvil engine.
The remake was originally slated to be released later this year, but Ubisoft’s announcement to delay its major IPs has seemingly pushed back plans. At the time of writing, we’ve learned that Obsidian’s internal BETA phase is set to go ahead in September, which likely means that the game won’t be ready for a 2025 release and could have been pushed back into 2026 (Ubisoft’s Beta to releases can last 3-12 months depending on game polish).
