On release day, FromSoftware revealed a new update coming to Elden Ring Nightreign that addresses several bugs and improves solo expeditions.
In less than 24 hours since launching, FromSoftware announced that Elden Ring Nightreign has already reached 2 million players. The post explicitly states 2 million “nightfarers,” so it’s difficult to tell if that refers to player count or sales, but it’s an impressive feat nonetheless.
Mixed reviews on Steam haven’t slowed down the momentum for this highly anticipated release, and FromSoftware is already listening to community feedback and responding accordingly.
Elden Ring Nightreign 1.02 Update Explained

Automatic Revive Feature Explained
Elden Ring: Nightreign was designed to be a co-op experience with teams of three, but there is also an option for solo expeditions. This makes the game more challenging because you can not be revived in battle, the fights were designed to be taken on by teams, and the character abilities work better when used in combination with other teammates.
To make things a bit easier for solo players, there will be a new automatic revival upon death effect, which allows revival once per night boss battle.
Increased Runes in Solo Expeditions
In addition, Runes are shared among teammates, so it’s easier to get more Runes in co-op because everyone can contribute. FromSoftware acknowledged this discrepancy and is increasing the amount of runes in solo mode. It’s unclear how significant a difference this will make, but it will make upgrading weapons and leveling up easier.
