A new string of code in the xCloud website has been spotted which suggests that Xbox Game Pass could be seeing another price increase soon.
The string of code was spotted by X (formerly Twitter) user @RedPhx, who noticed that a new notification string was added called “SubscriptionPriceIncrease”.
A new notification type called “SubscriptionPriceIncrease” has been added to the xCloud website
The new string leaves nothing to the imagination, as it essentially means that Xbox could be gearing up for another price increase in the very near future. Game pass last saw its price increase by as much as 25% in July 2024, and with game prices now on the rise, it isn’t difficult to see that Game Pass will also increase too.
Earlier today, Sony always weighed in on subscription price changes, saying that it will continue to change its prices as subscribers tend to opt for the higher tiers despite the online discourse online.
Both new tidbits of information suggest that both companies could be making subscription price increase announcements in the near future, but as of yet, no one has taken the plunge to go first.
At the time of writing, Game Pass will set players back $9.99 fore Core, $14.99 for Standard, or $19.99 for Ultimate.
