Summer Game Fest 2025 was stacked with plenty of announcements, release dates, and the first look at a bunch of upcoming titles, though there was one notable absentee in the form of Marvel’s Wolverine.
After not appearing during the Sony State of Play showcase earlier this week, fans will have been holding out for a potential appearance from Marvel’s Wolverine at the main Summer Games Fest show—but it never came.
Insomniac Games’ title oriented around the X-Men favorite was first announced in September 2021 but, four years later, we’ve seen nothing more official from the game.
There have, of course, been the huge Insomniac leaks that included the title and the Spider-Man series, which may have put the team back to the drawing board to mix things up and create fresh surprises, but the radio silence is causing concern.
Is No News Good News for Marvel’s Wolverine?

A quick search on X (formerly Twitter) after the showcase for Marvel’s Wolverine shows a flurry of posts asking Insomniac directly for updates, and expressing worries that the title may not ever see the light of day.
Given that October this year marks two years since the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which hasn’t received any major DLC like the first entry in the series, it’s understandable for fans to expect some news coming out from the studio.
The recent cancellation of the Black Panther game from EA will have certainly led to passionate fans being at panic stations but, unless we hear otherwise, rest assured that Marvel’s Wolverine is still in the works.
