New footage from Death Stranding 2 has been shown ahead of release, which is now just a few weeks away.
Set for release on June 26, with two days of early access available, Death Stranding 2 is one of the biggest releases of the year, so an appearance at Summer Games Fest was not surprising.
Hideo Kojima was on stage during the Summer Games Fest Showcase, offering a fresh look at the game.
In the clip unveiled at the showcase, Neil, a porter, meets Lucy in what appears to be a shrink’s office in an apparent emotional reunion, though the relationship between the pair is not made clear.
Kojima said both were “really important characters,” but did not reveal the details due to spoilers. A new live gameplay demo will be showcased on Sunday, with Geoff Keighley promising it “won’t be the last time” we see Neil this weekend.
What Platforms Will Death Stranding 2 Be On?
Death Stranding 2 will initially release as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, though the door remains open to featuring on other platforms in the future, following the precedent set by the original title.
Death Stranding on PC released less than a year after the PlayStation 4 version, with an upgraded PS5 version arriving two years after the initial release in September 2021.
Xbox Series X|S players then got their hands on the title in November last year, a five-year wait, so don’t expect any move to the Microsoft platform to be imminent.
