Complete Elden Ring Nightreign Map Guide—All Symbols, Icons & Locations Explained

It’s essential to know all of the map locations in Elden Ring Nightreign, so you can prepare as best as possible before taking on a Nightlord.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s map, Limveld, contains elements of Limgrave, but it takes place in an alternate universe, meaning players have to relearn their surroundings. On top of that, Nightreign has procedurally generated environments, so the terrain changes each time you start an Expedition.

This wouldn’t be an issue if players had as much time as they wanted to familiarize themselves with the map, but that’s not the case. The first two days have a set timer of 14 minutes, meaning you only have 28 total minutes to level up, get more flask charges, and acquire all of the loot you need before the final fight. It’s a must to make the most of your time, and knowing where everything is beforehand makes the process easier.

All Elden Ring Nightreign Symbols, Icons & Locations Explained

The Elden Ring Nightreign map features symbols and icons to give players a better understanding of where they should prioritize going. However, it’s impossible to know what those locations are without a description.

Fort

Forts are a great location to start at because they have a room at the top with a map in it that reveals hidden items around the map. In addition, they have plenty of easy-to-take-down mobs that will help you level up, along with chests to get loot.

Great Church

After leveling up once, going to a Great Church is a good idea because there is a mini-boss to take on. In addition, if you are a Recluse or Revenant, we recommend going here because the boss usually drops a Sacred Seal.

Main Encampment

A main Encampment contains a mini-boss, along with a merchant and a smithing table. If you want to upgrade your weapons or purchase any items before the day ends, this is a good spot to do so.

Ruins

Like other locations, Ruins are home to a mini-boss and chests underneath. Make sure to check everywhere, because it’s easy to miss the underground passageways with chests.

Tunnel Entrance

If you are on the second day and still haven’t upgraded your weapons, the Tunnel is a good place to do so. It’s full of easier enemies to collect runes from, there are Smithing Stones 1’s, and the boss drops a Smithing Stone 2.

Castle

Castles should only be approached when you are at a high enough level. They are home to challenging enemies and can even have multiple bosses. The reward is worth it though, because there are usually Talismans and Stonesword Keys.

Field Boss

Don’t make the mistake of taking these bosses on day one. These bosses are much more difficult than the standard bosses, but drop more runes and better loot.

Evergaol

You must use a Stonesword Key to spawn a random boss from these locations. Most of the bosses aren’t too challenging to take on and drop more Runes than a normal boss.

Township

Townships don’t have any enemies and have Merchants with rare items.

Church

It should be a priority for every Expedition to reach as many Churches as possible. They don’t have any enemies, and you get an additional Sacred Flask, which is essential for your fight against a Nightlord.

Sorcerer’s Rise

Like Great Churches, finding a Sorcerer’s Rise is huge for Recluse or Revenant players because they contain a magic item.

Additional Map Information

Scarab

If you ever run into a dung beetle, eliminate it before they disappears because they carry valuable items, including Talismans.

Buried Treasure

After getting the map from the Fort, it will reveal the location of Buried Treasure that contains rare items.

Mission Objective

Mission objectives reveal the location of Rememberance Quests and where to complete Shifting Earth events.

Other Locations

Grace

Sites of Grace restore HP, FP, Flask charges, and remove status ailments when you walk by them. In addition, you can also spend Runes to level up. Sites of Grace appear after defeating a boss but can also be found around the map.

Spectral Hawk Tree

These trees allow you to ride a hawk to a different location.

Spiritstream

Spirtstreams are usually found on the bottom of giant walls you can’t climb up normally. The stream will shoot you up to the top and will come in handy when avoiding the Night’s Tide.
