It’s the end of an era in Fortnite following the news that Rocket Racing is entering its final laps before a permanent shutdown, with the removal of the mode confirmed by Epic Games.
News of Rocket Racing’s removal from Fortnite came alongside two other game modes leaving the title, Ballistic and Festival Battle Stage, following mass layoffs affecting 1,000 Epic Games employees.
If you’re wondering exactly when Rocket Racing is being removed from Fortnite, Insider Gaming has all the details.
When is Rocket Racing Being Removed From Fortnite?

Rocket Racing is being removed from Fortnite in October 2026, with support having ended for the title already.
While Rocket Racing has longer on life support than two other Fortnite game modes being removed from the game, with Festival Battle Stage and Ballistic disappearing next month, Rocket Racing’s future is still set in stone.

The spin-off from Rocket League, another Epic Games title, has not been able to attract a playerbase deep enough to secure its long-term future, although it has been given a bit more time to breathe.

What’s Changing in Rocket Racing?
Rocket Racing Quests are being removed from Fortnite as early as next week, alongside the removal of other aspects from the game mode.
There will be no further ranked rewards provided from Rocket Racing this season and beyond, while creators in UEFN will no longer have access to track templates.

However, creators who are building car content will see the addition of car physics, hazards, and track-building tools, including the Track Spline tool and Speed Boost devices, to the base UEFN toolset in April.
Creators will be able to create custom racing islands with jumps, boosts, and drafting, while they will be able to move compatible Rocket Racing content over the standalone UEFN islands before October.
