Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is the latest creative marvel from the mind of Hideo Kojima. It’s being released on June 26 and serves as the direct sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding. This open-world, ethereal game is mind-bending, action-packed, and downright beautiful, but is Death Stranding 2 coming to Xbox?
In this snapshot guide, I’ll help you determine if a Death Stranding 2 Xbox release date is planned. Read on to learn everything you need to know about Death Stranding 2’s platforms.
Will Death Stranding 2 Come Out on Xbox?
Death Stranding 2 is not coming to Xbox and probably won’t for quite some time. It’s a PlayStation 5 exclusive game that will inevitably end up launching on PC and Xbox, but if it’s like its predecessor, that might not happen for another five years.
Death Stranding was released by Kojima Productions, 505, and Sony in 2019, and it wasn’t until 2024 that it was released on Xbox Series platforms. It stands to reason that it could be just as long before we see the Xbox release date for Death Stranding 2.
It’s worth stressing that this is just conjecture. We’re not privy to the discussions that go on behind closed doors, and it might be that the exclusivity deal is so strong it never leaves PlayStation.
That’s not the end of the road, though…
Can You Play Death Stranding on Xbox?
If you want a taste of Death Stranding 2, you can play the first game on Xbox right now. In November 2024, the Director’s Cut edition of the game was released on Xbox Series platforms, inviting an entirely new audience to experience one of Hideo Kojima’s most impressive games.
Is Death Stranding on Game Pass?
Death Stranding is not on Xbox Game Pass, but for a while, it was on PC Game Pass. If you want to play Death Stranding on Xbox, you’ll need to buy the game.
