Players have expressed their frustration of the hacking and cheating situation in Star Wars Battlefront 2, which has seen a significant soar in popularity this past week,
At the time of writing, Battlefront 2 managed to hit its all-time concurrent player count on Steam a few days ago at 18,635, which at face value, doesn’t seem like a lot. However, sources within EA tell Insider Gaming that the games concurrent players for Battlefront 2 are well into the hundreds of thousands across all platforms and consoles.
But its not all sunshine and rainbows, as the games resurgence in players has seen hackers and cheaters flood back to the game. The issue seems to mostly be for those playing on the PC and if you’ve watched a content creator play the game recently, you’ve probably seen games bugging out, crashing, or just not working at all.
The problem, which has been an issue for many years, has understandably made the community rally together to voice their frustrations. Its hoped that EA and DICE will see the pleas and as the company is now presumably making a decent chuck of change again off the game, they’ll act on implementing some form of anti-cheat.
As of yet, EA or DICE are yet to comment on updating the game or fixing the issue, but the publisher and DICE have a tendency to go back on some of these older games (especially Battlefield) to fix issues if the game gets a fresh pulse of a player base.
