Techland has finally lifted the lid on the release date for Dying Light: The Beast. The long-awaited expansion-turned-standalone game was revealed almost a year ago during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, and fans of the post-apocalyptic series have been on the edges of their seats waiting for a release date ever since.
That time has finally arrived. During the Summer Game Fest showcase in Los Angeles, Techland dropped a new trailer for Dying Light: The Beast and revealed the release date for the game.
A New Adventure
Dying Light: The Beast will be released on August 22, 2025.
The latest trailer showcased exactly what fans can expect from this small-but-mighty standalone game that furthers the Dying Light universe, a ten-year-old series:
One of the most exciting aspects of Dying Light: The Beast is that it features the return of Kyle Crane, the protagonist of 2015’s Dying Light. The return of Crane reintroduces Roger Craig Smith to the franchise for the first time in almost a decade.

It took Dying Light: The Beast just two months to find a spot on one million wishlists worldwide. The hype for this expansion of the Dying Light universe is palpable, and it comes more than three years after the last major release in the series.
Although it’s set to be smaller, Dying Light: The Beast features an entirely new world, a fresh story, and never-before-seen abilities, weapons, and ways to get around.
You won’t have long to wait to get back into the role of Kyle Crane – Dying Light: The Beast will be released on August 22, 2025.
