Black Myth: Wukong Coming to Xbox on August 20

It has finally been revealed that Black Myth: Wukong, the best-selling title that was released in August 2024, will be released on Xbox platforms on the game’s first anniversary – August 20, 2025. This long-awaited news is sure to please prospective fans on Team Green who originally had to miss out on this stellar action title.

It was also revealed that Black Myth: Wukong will drop on Xbox as a first-ever sale takes place, knocking 20% off the standard and premium editions of the game.

Finally on Xbox

Game Science has revealed the imminent launch of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox platforms. On August 20, one year after the game was first released on PlayStation and PC, it’ll launch on Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders for the Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong will go live on June 18, and until July 11, a hefty discount can be secured on the game.

In January, the Game Science team confirmed that delays launching Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox platforms were caused by technical issues with the limitations present in the Xbox Series S console. They were having issues optimising the game with the limited shared memory on the Series S, which is the ‘less powerful’ of the Xbox Series X|S split.

Earlier rumours of exclusivity with PlayStation were cast aside, but it was later revealed that Game Science had ‘tons of support’ from Sony when piecing together their award-winning game that turned millions of heads in 2024 and beyond.
