Helldivers 2 Brings in Around 2.5 Million Players ‘Every Week’

Arrowhead’s CCO stated that nearly 2.5 million players jump into Helldivers 2 weekly.

Helldivers 2 Maintains a Weekly Average of 2.5 Million Players

Arrowhead Studios Chief Creative Officer, Johan Pliestedt’s new post on X (formerly Twitter) states “around 2.5 million Helldivers playing the game every week”, with more expected to join the battle in the latest Heart of Democracy update.

Helldivers 2: Heart of Democracy Brings an Influx of Players on Steam

Helldivers 2’s Heart of Democracy is doing bits for the game on Steam, with the title achieving a 24-hour peak of 163,581 players (at the time of writing). The last time Helldivers 2 saw a similar peak was in December 2024, when the developers released the Omens of Tyranny update. Releasing new content seems to work for the title, with swarms of players joining during every major update.

Helldivers 2’s Heart of Democracy update features a lot of new content for players to sink their teeth into. The Illuminate has brought the battle to Super Earth, and the Helldivers must battle on their turf. Check out the details of this update here, which features Planetary Defense Cannons, ally SEAF troops, citizens roaming around and more. Moreover, a previous update introduced a weapon customisation feature and new Illuminate enemy types.

In other news, Arrowhead’s next game will be free from a PlayStation partnership. What are your thoughts on Helldivers 2 attracting 2.5 million players each week? Let us know below, and join the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
