It has been discovered that Tencent is preparing some kind of UGC (User-Generated Content) initiative for Delta Force, the cross-platform first-person shooter that has amassed tens of millions of players. The title has been on the market for more than a year, competing with titles like Battlefield and Escape from Tarkov and offering an array of game modes.
This UGC push was unveiled following the discovery of a job listing that talked about hiring a ‘User-Generated Content Designer’ working specifically on Delta Force. The team wants someone with three or more years of UGC platform product experience and will help lead the UGC business direction.
Delta Force Players Could Earn Soon
Fortnite really pushed the popularization of UGC ecosystems to the forefront of gaming in recent years. With the UEFN, some users have been able to create masterful experiences that generated a surprising amount of income. It’s the same concept as Roblox, which allows users to earn vast sums of real-world cash for their in-game creations.
Delta Force could be the next game to push into the UGC space, a revelation that comes courtesy of a Tencent job listing for a UGC Designer working on the first-person shooter. This information came from Game Daily via PocketGamer.biz.
UGC is a relatively easy way for a developer to push their game to the limit. It encourages fans to bring to life creations in games made using the same tools that the developers use to craft base experiences. It’s a similar concept to modding, but typically, UGC is an on-platform, officially supported model using the best tools available.
It’s done in a way that encourages users to learn from the ground up and offers them an easier way into the modding space, because more content is never a bad thing.
Delta Force is one of the most popular shooters in the world, easily outpacing some of the AAA titles that fill the space. At the time of writing, it boasted a whopping 103,032 players on Steam, beating the likes of Battlefield 6, Call of Duty, Overwatch, ARC Raiders, Escape from Tarkov, and many more.
