The Illuminate fleet has overwhelmed the Helldivers 2 players and invaded Super Earth. Players must now defend their homes with the latest Heart of Democracy update, which Playstation accidentally revealed early last week.
Heart of Democracy Update will have Helldivers 2 Players Fighting On their Home Turf
With the Heart of Democracy Update going live, Helldivers 2 players will find that Illuminate has managed to invade Super Earth and is causing complete chaos. They are running amok in the city, giving a real hard time to the citizens and destroying all the infrastructure. Helldivers 2 players are the ultimate protectors of democracy, and it’s their job to defend the planet.
As part of the update, players will fight in biomes filled with towering skyscrapers, crowded streets, citizens running around, and more. Players must work together to liberate all cities, which will also have a “significant impact on planetary campaigns.”
Planetary Defense Cannons
To take down the enormous Illuminate forces in the Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy update, players will need a lot of firepower, and that’s where the Planetary Defense Cannons come in. While fighting through the Illuminate forces, players must activate the Planetary Defense Cannons to take down the Illuminate fleet in a grand show of power.”

Back Up Has Arrived
In the new update, players will have access to SEAF Troops that will join the fight to protect democracy. These small squads of allies will take on enemies on their own. Players can also order them to follow their team as temporary backup.

Don’t Kill the Citizens
As the Heart of Democracy update has brought the fight to Super Earth, the citizens are no longer safe and must run to protect themselves. Players will find several citizens roaming the streets when battling the Illuminate forces. They must be protected, and Helldivers 2 players must ensure that no citizen is harmed due to friendly fire, or they will be punished.
Weapon Customisation and New Enemy Types
In a previous update, the developers released a new Weapon Customisation feature, which players must use to prepare for the Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy Update. New Illuminate enemy types, such as the Stingray: jet fighters, Crescent Overseer and the Fleshmob, are gunning for you too.
In other news, Arrowhead has announced that their next game will be free from a PlayStation partnership. What are your thoughts on the Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy update?
