Nintendo Returns To Gamescom In 2025

Nintendo has confirmed that it will be returning to Gamescom in 2025. After skipping 2024, the company announced that it will be coming back to the annual event in a post on social media.

“Mark your calendar in red: Nintendo will be back at [Gamescom] in 2025,” the post read via translation. “We look forward to welcoming you to Cologne from August 20th to 24th!”

With the Nintendo Switch 2 set to launch on June 5 and a number of games in development for the system, Nintendo’s return to Gamescom makes sense from a marketing standpoint. The company will have more people get hands-on time with its newest system, and continue the push to its first holiday shopping season on the market.

As of writing, the company hasn’t announced what it will be showing at the event. With Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong: Bananza out by the time it takes place, it should be a safe bet that both titles will be there. There’s also the possibility of other titles like Metroid Prime 5: Beyond, Pokemon Legends Z-A, and maybe even some other currently unknown titles being at the show.

The last time Nintendo was at the event, it reportedly held closed-door tech demos for the Switch 2 for various members of the press and developers.

Insider Gaming will have boots on the ground at Gamescom 2025, and will provide full coverage from Nintendo and all of the other developers and publishers during the week-long event.
