Monster Hunter Wilds Helped Capcom Achieve Record-Breaking Year

Capcom has boasted a record-breaking year for consolidated sales and operating income, with the highest amounts for both in company history, and Monster Hunter Wilds was a big driving force.

Monster Hunter Wilds launched on February 28 to rave reviews, hitting the 10 million sales milestone in its first month, and there’s still plenty more to come from the title.

Coupled with the continued success of the Resident Evil franchise, Capcom’s fiscal year 2025 earnings are impressive, with an 11 per cent increase year-on-year for net sales and a 15 per cent increase in operating income.

This marks the 12th consecutive year of profit growth for Capcom, marking the highest consolidated sales and operating income in Capcom’s history.

What Else Did The Capcom Report Show?

Capcom’s report also marked a growth in the sale of units, selling a total of 51.87 million copies in the fiscal year, which represented 13 per cent growth. A whopping 90% of those sales were digital.

With Monster Hunter Wilds still in its infancy and further big releases ahead this year, including Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of Goddess for Nintendo Switch 2, Capcom is forecasting 54 million units sold in the next fiscal year.

Capcom also has other games in development for the year, which we could hear more about at Summer Game Fest, and DLC for Monster Hunter Wilds is confirmed beyond the mostly cosmetic options that are currently available to purchase.

The signs are certainly looking promising for Capcom, and the success of Monster Hunter Wilds shows that we should be keeping a very close eye on upcoming releases.
