A new rumor has claimed that Call of Duty might be changing its Battle Pass strategy to paywall limited time modes.
The new rumour comes from serial leaker TheGhostofHope, who says that the recent changes could be implemented for Call of Duty 2025.
UPDATE: Per Charlie Intel, Activision WILL NOT be paywalling LTMs in Call of Duty 2025.
According to Hope, the current plan in Call of Duty 2025 is to have more seasonal limited-timed modes (LTMs), but instead of them being traditionally free to all players, some will now be locked behind the games Battle Pass.
This means that in essence some LTMs will now be paywalled, with players only being able to access them by spending $20-30 on the Battle Pass.
Hope goes on further to say that higher valued skins and other bits of content could be part of Battle Pass, instead of Premium Event Passes.
If true, the move is certainly *a choice*, especially considering we’ve heard that Call of Duty 2025 is set to be one of Xbox’s first $80 games.
This year’s Call of Duty is set to be a semi-futuristic game set around 2030-2035 and will be a sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
As previously rumored, Black Ops 2 remastered maps will be coming to the game, but recent plans and the scope of the game have changed significantly.
